I remember fondly being drunk in your basement in Philly and snapping the volume knob off of my guitar. The sound of old drum machines ringing out in my dreams. Care free at the end of tour. Even though I can't afford guitar strings because we partied too hard in Boston. Being broke always finds a way to kick your ass. Oh, Pennsylvania's got so many people who seem to show amazing kindness. I've had moments where I've found myself on a roof. I've got others of expended youth. There's reasons why this is all I want to do.

I'm convinced I've got better things to do. Not worrying about going slow as long as I keep my eyes set towards my goals. No more singing about digging holes. Life is dumb but there's so much to know. I don't care about getting old. I care about love, life, and making myself full. I feel like I've wasted too much time on anything to settle. Like a pot calling the kettle black, you can't take anything back. I don't want to leave behind a legacy of self loathing and disrespect. Sometimes punks too busy talking shit and I know that I'm guilty too. Whose a better leftist? Who the fuck cares! I've got better things to do.

Cause when I'm standing still, there's always more to be had. The dull moments give me clarity. They show me this isn't how life's supposed to be. I'd rather wear my body out than sit around full of doubt. Wondering what my life could finally be. Just being isn't as easy as it used to be.
